About the Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Executive Assistant to support a Black transgender professional in their day-to-day activities. This role requires someone who is not only highly organized and efficient but also sensitive to the unique experiences of Black transgender individuals. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of confidentiality, and a commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Support:
- Manage and organize the executive's calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and events.
- Handle correspondence, including emails, phone calls, and messages, ensuring timely responses.
- Prepare and edit documents, presentations, and reports as needed.

Personal Assistance:
- Assist with personal errands and tasks as requested, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Coordinate travel arrangements, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation.
- Support the executive in managing work-life balance, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.

Project Management:
- Assist in the planning and execution of personal and professional projects.
- Track progress on ongoing projects and ensure that deadlines are met.
- Conduct research and compile information relevant to the executive's needs.

Diversity and Inclusion:
- Create an environment of trust and respect, recognizing the importance of intersectionality and the unique challenges faced by Black transgender individuals.
- Act as an advocate for inclusivity within the workplace and in interactions with external contacts.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as an executive assistant, personal assistant, or similar role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Experience in managing calendars, scheduling, and coordinating events.
- Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Understanding and appreciation of the challenges faced by Black transgender individuals.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with LGBTQ+ communities or other marginalized groups.
- Knowledge of intersectional issues related to race, gender, and sexuality.
- Familiarity with project management tools and software.

Requirements

  • The executive assistance role supports the executive director by managing key administrative responsibilities, including data collection, board meeting preparation, email communication and monthly email blast as well as general operational task such as phone management, open and closing the center, as well as email, bills center operation correspondence.


  • Hours: Tuesday - Thursday 12pm to 8pm, some evenings and weekends will be required.

    Pay: $18 an hour


    Supervisor: TMPI Executive Director


    Location: Margate, Florida


    Must have valid driver’s license and a Transportation


    Black person of TGNCNB+ experience preferred.

About the Company

The McKenzie Project, Inc stands as a pioneering Black trans-led organization in South Florida, uniquely positioned as the sole Black Trans-led entity in Miami-Dade County. Our mission is to uplift individuals aged 14 and above within the Black TGNCNB+ community across Miami-Dade and Broward County, with a special emphasis on those experiencing homelessness and involved in survival sex work. Through a creative arts perspective, we advocate HIV awareness and empower change by promoting entrepreneurship studies, addressing economic disparities that disproportionately impact our community in relation to HIV.

VISION: Is to eliminate obstacles to joy and liberation for Black TGNCNB+ individuals in South Florida. We aim to enhance economic conditions while actively working to eradicate homelessness, diminish reliance on survival sex work, and combat the HIV epidemic in the region.
